February 26 - Return Leg - Charlotte to Seattle We crossed (at 37,000 feet) the Missouri River in the vicinity of Bismarck, North Dakota, just south of where the Missouri makes its big turn south from the west. This is the land where Lewis and Clark constructed Fort Mandan and spent the winter of 1804-1805 amongst the Mandan Indians. I reached this same locale by land on July 31, 2000 on my cross-country drive to Seattle from Charlotte. |
