Promontory Summit, Utah
I spent the proceeding evening camped just east of Rock Springs out amongst
the stars and wild things on the airport plateau, just above Bitter
Creek...
Rock Springs, Wyoming...
Proceeding west through Wyoming...
Fort Bridger, Wyoming... established around 1842 by Jim Bridger,
the greatest frontiersmen of them all...

Proceeding northward from Salt Lake City through Ogden and Brigham
City, toward Promontory...

Golden Spike National Historic Site at Promontory Summit...
I camped for the evening at Promontory Summit, just a few yards from the
spot where the first transcontinental railroad reached its completion on May
10, 1869. My camp by Golden Spike was isolated; just me and scores of
rabbits about, and coyotes calling out from every direction...
