Michael Guthrie on the dulcimer singing "Shortenin' Bread"...

"Mama's little baby loves shortnin', shortnin'

Bob the Crossroads Soundman in his "office." It occurred to me that Bob must be one of the most clapped at fellows in the Seattle area - every performer on the Crossroads stage always calls for a round of applause for Bob in recognition of the fine job he does on the soundboard night after night. Bob really shines when reinforcing acoustic instruments... Photo-Journal...

Bryan Bowers was singing "Where The Soul Of Man Never Dies" as I walked in... with autoharp... says he's the first "living" inductee of the Autoharp Hall of Fame. I had a pleasant chat with Bryan after his set - I asked him where in Virginia he hailed from and he replied "Yorktown, where Lord Cornwallis surrounded to George Washington in October of 1871." My kind of man! I replied that I'm from 40 miles east of Kings Mountain and Cowpens where General Daniel Morgan of the Continental Army whooped Lord Cornwallis  before he got to Yorktown, in January of 1781! I bought Bryan's Bristlecone Pine CD after our chat and I'm enjoying it even as I write these words... Photo-Journal...
