The train was in the vicinity of Dunsmuir, California at day break, just south of Mt. Shasta...

 

       

 

 

 

The railway goes around the west side of Mt. Shasta (14,162 ft.)...

 

       

 

 

 

 

Somewhere in this area we rolled out of California and into the Oregon country...

 

 

Klamath Falls, Oregon, where 6 days before I had rendezvoused with Chieko...

 

     

 

 

The Upper Klamath Lake...

 

 

Up through Oregon... the mansion in the trees is in Eugene...

Portland, along the Willamette River...

 

       

 

 

 

Crossing the mighty Columbia River... leaving Oregon and entering Washington...

 

 

The lower Puget Sound, and the Tacoma Narrows Bridge...

 

     

 

 

 

Tacoma...

       

 

 

 

Mt. Rainier from the countryside around Puyallup...

 

 

King Street Station, Seattle... 24 hours after boarding at San Jose...

 

And so ended another fine adventure...
