Morning... from the Ocean View balcony at Fort Bragg, California...
 
 
Morning walk along the beach at the Ocean View...
 
       
 
 
Fort Bragg... local rumor has it that Ulysses S. Grant was stationed here in the early 1850's...
 
 
Mendocino by the sea shore...
 
 
In Mendocino we lunched at the Moosse Cafe, part of the Blue Heron Inn. The photographs on the Blue Heron web site are by Ethan Russell, photographer of note, and that is how I became aware of the Blue Heron...

Whilst we sat in the Mendocino garden a dog walked up and danced a jig...

Leaving Mendocino...
 
 
On down the California North Coast Highway 1...
 
       
 
       
 
   
 
 
 
We stopped at the Sea Ranch Chapel in coastal Sonoma county...
 
       
 
   
 
 
A little further down the road we encountered sheep...
 
       
 
 
 
 
We took lodging for the evening at the Timber Cove Inn, at Jenner, California...  on the wild Sonoma coast...

A late afternoon walk in the area around the Inn... as the day's fog finally began to burn off...

View from the balcony... the fog having cleared...
 
 
We watched the sun set over the Pacific... and as the sun disappeared, a raccoon came to visit...
 
       
 
 
During dinner at the Timber Cove a cat sat on the piano...
 
And the raccoons were always watching...
