Day 5 - Charlotte to Charlottesville, VA...  Monticello...

   

 

Father packs baggage into the Buick and thus began a 5-day trek around the heartland of Dixie... to Charlottesville, VA, through the Shenandoah Valley, over the Appalachian Mountains, through Knoxville, to Nashville, Tennessee. Then down the Naches Trace, over to Chattanooga, and to Atlanta. Then up to the North Carolina highlands and back down to Charlotte...

 

Breakfast at the Cracker Barrel, north of Charlotte...

       

 

 

We proceeded on, into Virginia... passing through the area once traipsed by John Boy Walton (at least it was so on TV)...

We departed Monticello in the late afternoon and drove through the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and on into Salem, VA where we stopped for the night...
