I left my work at mid-afternoon and drove east from Seattle-Bellevue into
the Cascade Mountains, ending up at Roslyn, Washington. At Roslyn I
dinned at Washington State's oldest operating saloon, The Brick (also of
Northern Exposure fame).
First I stopped at Snoqualmie Falls. This is a mere 25 minutes from
Bellevue...
Onward over the Cascades, toward Roslyn...
The drive to the Snoqualmie ski slopes from Seattle's Eastside takes about
45 minutes...
The little town of Roslyn sits on the eastern side of the Cascades
between the Wenatchee National Forest and the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National
Forest, about 75 miles east of Seattle...
At The Brick I sat close to a massive old wood burning stove and marked
my birthday...
