Seattle... I had my breakfast at east Lake Union then headed north...

 

       

 

   

 

 

 

North of Seattle at Edmonds... on Puget Sound...

 

     

 

 

 

East from Mount Vernon along SR-20, the North Cascades Highway. I knew that snow and slides had already closed this road for the season in the higher elevations, but I decided to drive it up to the barricade...

 

       

 

       

 

     

 

 

 

Gorge Powerhouse at Newhalem, a Seattle City Light project on the Skagit River. The section of the North Cascades Highway east of Newhalem and west of Winthrop, including Rainy Pass and Washington Pass, was closed closed for the season...
