- Day 4 (10-29-2000) - London to Reading
-
-
- After 2 pleasant nights in the Vauxhall area of central London I checked out of the still
not
quite officially opened for business Comfort Inn. I drove northward
through the Sunday morning streets of London, crossing the Thames at the
Vauxhall Bridge, and on into
Chelsea. I strolled along the Thames at
Cheyne Walk,
covered
Edith Grove from end to end, and walked on to my
brunch at the Mona Lisa Cafe on the old
King's Road. I then drove by
Hyde Park, through
Knightsbridge,
Piccadilly, and up to
Primrose Hill. Next
I drove from
St. John's Wood through west London, eventually reaching
the M-4, passing by Heathrow Airport, and on into
Reading. Upon
reaching Reading I encountered (for the second evening in a row) a gale
force wind and rain...
