Coon Pelt Cap, November 2005

The Washington Arms Collectors puts on a show about every two weeks, alternating between the Western Washington Fairgrounds at Puyallup (south of Seattle) and the Evergreen State Fairgrounds at Monroe (north of Seattle). At the October 22 show at Monroe I met a fellow wearing a handsome skunk pelt hat. I told him that I had long been searching for a good raccoon pelt hat. As it turned out, the lady that had made this fellow's hat was working at that very show, so he took me over for an introduction. This lady said she had a beautiful raccoon pelt that would suit me nicely and after a little negotiating she sat me down and measured me up, with a custom coon pelt cap to be delivered two weeks later at the next WAC show, at Puyallup.

Morning at Camp Hypervisor...

I picked Nancy up in Kirkland for breakfast in Bigfoot then dropped her off at her workplace at Seattle's Lake Union...

From Lake Union I headed down Puyallup way...

No cameras allowed inside WAC shows...

Inside the show I took delivery on a fine raccoon pelt hat...

Back down to Lake Union...

As expected, the new coon pelt cap stretched a bit, necessitating an alteration job. Accordingly, I took the fury hat back to its maker the following day. I would pick the hat up again two weeks later at the next WAC show.

A few day later... a couple of shots of my workplace...
