Ruby Beach

January 17

Around Kalaloch Lodge in the light of morning...

I picked up a puzzle for my brother Brian (back in North Carolina), and a few trinkets...

Cabins surround the main lodge, at the ocean's edge...

I stoked up the coffee mug and headed toward Ruby Beach, a few miles to the north...

A came upon what I noted as a fine camping spot...

Big cedar tree...

Ruby Beach...

A round stone that will be delivered to Ranger Will...

A sea stack stone for my Father. Back in North Carolina, Father was not doing well, and this was very much on my mind...

Proceeding south on 101...

I paused along the shore at Quinault Lake...

I had my luncheon in Aberdeen, at the Dog House...

This antique Coca-Cola "Sprite Boy" always causes me to pause... some distant memory always stirs, but I can never quite pull it down. I think I used to call him "Bottle Cap Boy." I recall seeing that figure as a young boy... maybe at the Drum restaurant on East Blvd. in Charlotte, near my Mother's parent's house on Kenilworth Ave. There's something about that Sprite Boy...

At the Dog House I had a pleasant chat with the owner, mother of Okinawan Hardstyle karate phenom Roxanne Hope Sparks...

Then I enjoyed "The Bigun"...

Satsop nuclear power plant cooling towers...

A Support the Troops rally at an I-5 overpass near Fort Lewis, south of Seattle...
