- Now I Got A River
- Bill Noonan, 2003
-
- Steven’s Pass is clear
- For the first time this year
- Heard it on the radio today
- Apple trees in bloom above Wenatchee
- Rivers risin’ with the snow melt
- And a good warm Cascade rain
-
- Been sleepin’ in the straw
- On a farm near Yakima
- But the river’s lookin’ better every day
- Ran a drift boat up the Canyon
- Put her in at Ellensburg
- Worked the river
- All that summer
- I mean every bend and curve
-
- I had a place back on the East coast
- I paid the price
- I had my ticket to the game
- But one day on the way back from Seattle
- I missed a plane
- Now I got a river and a long time to
complain
- Now I got a river and a lotta time to
complain
-
- In the fall just turn me loose over on
the old Palouse
- Where my horses and my huntin’ dogs can
range
- Flushin birds out in those endless
wheatfields
- Till the snow comes back and blocks the
pass again
-
- I had a place back on the East coast
- I paid the price I had my ticket to the
game
- But one day on the way back from Seattle
- I missed a plane
- Now I got a river and a lotta time to
complain
- Now I got a river and a long time to
complain
- Now I got a river, Now I got a river
- Now I got a river and a long time to
complain
