Day 1: Arrival In Seattle

Mother & Father fetched at Sea-Tac after the long cross-country flight from Charlotte, NC... sandwiches at the Japanese Gardens... along the Seattle side of Lake Washington and over to Bellevue...

Over the heartland they flew and on to the westward... Father snapping pictures all the way...

Father was able to get a couple of nice shots of Mount Rainier as the jet descended into the Seattle area...

From Sea-Tac we went straight into Seattle where we lunched at the Seattle Japanese Garden...

The shot above turned out to be one of the last surviving shot from my ill-fated new Canon S330. The shots that follow are not from my camera - they are a mix of Mother's and Father's shots (and occasional shots that I made with Mother's 35mm Minolta Maxxum 5). It grieves me to explain this further, but explain I must... On Day 4 of our vacation I did one of the dumbest things I've ever done - I dropped my new Canon S330 into the waters of the Pacific Ocean while we were on the ferry from Port Angles, WA to Victoria, BC. About 25 minutes into the 90 minute crossing we came upon considerable waves, the ferry pitched, my grip on the camera loosened and into the deep, cold sea it fell. Within the camera was a 256 MB compact flash card with all my trip pictures up to that moment. So, the photo record of our trip from the beginning until dropping the camera into the ocean (the first 3 and a half days) is made up of Mother's and Father's shots (and occasional shots that I made with Mother's 35mm Minolta Maxxum 5). After losing my camera I started using Mother's Minolta and from that point on the photo record will consist of shots from all of us. Now, on with the show...

Along Lake Washington and on to the Silver Cloud in Redmond...

The day ended with a hootenanny at my lodge in Bellevue, just across the way from the Silver Cloud...
