Day 6 (10-31-2000) - Another Day In Reading

   

 

I spent the evening prior in the center of Reading at the Royal Country Hotel. After checking in I walked down the block to a pedestrian district called The Oracle. I stuck my head in a few of the pubs there, settling on a Wetherspoon's establishment called The Monk's Retreat. The street shots below (taken prior to check-out) are of the area I wandered in the evening before...

 

       

 

       

 

At work, and at the nearby village of Sonning-On-Thames for lunch. Sonning has been around since Anglo-Saxon times and the church dates back hundreds of years as well...
