And his fine band the Silvertone... with John...

What a nice place for an evening concert. The venue is on a large pier extending out into Elliot Bay, with striking views in all directions. Chris Isaak is an entertaining fellow with a captivating set of songs, some of which are quite touching. Many of his tunes are filled with subtle, passionate spaces... and a haunting simplicity... The band weaves in and out of the passionate spaces, through rockabilly, ballads, and surf... nodding to Roy Orbison along the way. Chris Isaak and the Silvertone are one of the few bands to come along since the end of the 80's that I've liked and I'm happy to say that this show reaffirmed my fondness for the Isaak Silvertone...

Earlier in the day I was taking a drive, and a future photo-essay came to mind - "Coffee Shacks of the Pacific NorthWest"...

They're everywhere...
